Hyundai Motor Reports October 2019 Global Sales

SEOUL, November 1, 2019 – Hyundai Motor Company today announced global sales results for October 2019, which totaled 399,906 units.

Korea Sales

Domestic sales decreased by 2.1 percent year on year, totaling 64,912 units. The all-new Sonata regained its title as the country’s best-selling model for the month of October, as it sold 10,688 units, while Grandeur (Azera) and Avante (Elantra) sales also remained solid with 3,040 and 6,571 units, respectively.

Combined sales of SUV lineup totaled 19,911 units in Korea led by the Santa Fe, which sold 6,676 units. Kona was the second most popular SUV model with 4,421 units sold, followed by the Venue, which sold 2,645 units.

Overseas Sales
For markets other than Korea, sales decreased by 2.6 percent from the same month in 2018, totaling 334,994 units sold. Tucson led all models with 45,625 units.

Weaker demand in emerging markets weighed on overseas sales despite continued growth in developed markets including North America and Europe.

1. Sales in Korea is based on retail sales while overseas sales (Global Sales excluding Korea) is based on wholesales.

2. Sales result includes entire sedan, SUV and CV models produced by Hyundai Motor.
